He was predeceased by: his parents, Albert Sippel and Bertha Sippel (Johnson); his wife Marlys; his siblings, Lester, Arnold, Ralph, Edith Hughes and Irene; and his brother-in-law Frank Hughes.
He is survived by: his children, Meri Erickson (John) of Groton, Marc Sippel (Franne) of Groton, Monte Sippel (Sandi) of Groton, Marjae Schinkel (Dan) of Groton, Mendy Jones (Jim) of Groton and Melissa Gilbert (Neil) of Groton; his grandchildren, Seth Erickson (Megan), Evan Erickson, Sydney Wilkinson, Camille Sippel, Anthony Sippel, Alyssa Sippel, Madison Sippel, Sarah Sippel, Danielle Schinkel, Jasmine Schinkel, Anthony Schinkel, Emma Schinkel, Marlee Jones, Austin Jones, Emerlee Jones, Brooklyn Gilbert and Carly Gilbert; his great grandchildren, Haley, Max Erickson and Calli Wilkinson; and his sister-in-law Hilda Sippel.
