He was predeceased by: his parents, John and Hannah (Lemke); his sister Lorraine Fowler; his wife Dorothy; and his siblings, Charlie, Cody, Walter, Henry, Richard, Alvin, Gehard, Dorothy, Ruth, Gertrude and Leona.
He is survived by: his daughters, Vicky Allerdings (Richard) of Gillette, WY, Jeri Richards (James) of Aberdeen, SD, Tina Pearce of Orlando, FL and Juli Bailey (Ray) of Alamogordo, NM. He is also survived by nine grandchildren, nine great grandchildren, four step great grandchildren.
Memorials may be directed towards the St. Jacobi Church in Glenham, SD or the Great Plains Lutheran High School in Watertown, SD.
