It is with deep sorrow that we announce the death of Jim L. Schneider of Gettysburg, South Dakota, who passed away on March 26, 2025, at the age of 73, leaving to mourn family and friends. You can send your sympathy in the guestbook provided and share it with the family.
He was predeceased by: his parents, Leonard G. Schneider and Nohra Schneider (Natchke); his former wife Neida L. Hageman; his son Jason D.; and his nephew Tim Bennett (Kerry Schneider).
He is survived by: his daughter Angela N. Neida (Eric); his wife Ladonna Hageman (Erikson); his children, Patrick Schneider (Mel), Tina Schneider and Pierre; his stepchildren, Michelle Castor (Al) and Michael Hageman (Angie); his grandchildren, Madi Alexander, Addison, Emmaree Hotz, Alison Castor, Alex Castor, Amber Castor, Hannah Hageman, Abby Hageman and Grace Hageman; and his siblings, Mick "Snipe" Schneider (Dianne), Patsy Bennett, Dan Schneider and Bob Schneider. He is also survived by numerous nephews, nieces, cousins and friends.
A prayer was held on Thursday, April 10th 2025 at 7:00 PM at the American Legion (112 S Exene St, Gettysburg, SD 57442). A celebration of life was held on Friday, April 11th 2025 at 11:00 AM at the same location.
In lieu of flowers, monetary memorials will be distributed to Gettysburg First Responders 510 W Garfield Ave, Gettysburg, SD 57442 and Avera@Home, 606 E Garfield Ave, Gettysburg, SD 57442.
