With profound sadness, we say goodbye to Delores Ames of Gettysburg, South Dakota, whose vibrant spirit touched the lives of many. Delores left this world on March 13, 2025 at the age of 88, leaving a void in the lives of so many people. She was predeceased by: her parents, Tommy Pederson and Ethel Pederson (Hardin); her husband David Ames; her children, Bill and Peggy; and her siblings, Joe Pederson, Vivian Amen, Carol Rhodes and Sonja Pederson.
She is survived by: her daughters, LeAnn Suhr (John) of Webster, Theresa Martinmaas (Ken) of Clear Lake and Ellen Logan (Kevin) of Gettysburg; her brother Ron Pederson (Irene); and her siblings-in-law, Alice Baruth, Sally Schatz and Steve Ames (Bud). She is also survived by fourteen grandchildren; seventeen great-grandchildren.
Visitation was held on Wednesday, March 19th 2025 from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM at the United Methodist Church (101 E Garfield Ave, Gettysburg, SD 57442). A funeral service was held on Wednesday, March 19th 2025 at 11:00 AM at the same location. A burial was held on Wednesday, March 19th 2025 at 2:30 PM at the G. A. R. Cemetery.
