Lee Hanson Obituary

With profound sadness, we say goodbye to Lee Hanson of Garretson, South Dakota, whose vibrant spirit touched the lives of many. Lee left this world on March 29, 2025 at the age of 89, leaving a void in the lives of so many people. You can send your sympathy in the guestbook provided and share it with the family.

He was predeceased by: his parents, William Hanson and Hilda Hanson (Kjenstad); his brother Clair; his parents-in-law, Hans Christian and Hilda Ericksen; his siblings-in-law, Marilyn Hobbs and Palmer Ericksen; his niece Roxanne Griffin; and his nephew Brett Sanberg.

He is survived by: his wife Judy Ericksen; his children, Nila Lorenzen (Luverne), Clair Hanson and Todd Hanson (Patti Larsen); his grandchildren, Ryan Hanson, Joshua Hanson, Sydney Hanson, Katie Lorenzen, Stacy Domeyer, Jordan Lorenzen, Nathan Lorenzen, Christian Hanson, Ben Hanson, Megan Larsen and McKayla Larsen; his great grandchildren, Natalie, Allison, Ashtyn, Samara, Miles, Mason, Torrence, Teagen, Nora, Edith, Hudson, Stella, Lily, Carter, Adelynn, Brynlee, Walker, Kade and Luke; his sister Dorothy Griffin; and his siblings-in-law, Harold Ericksen (Diane), Paul Ericksen (Roxanne), Donald Ericksen (Lola), David Ericksen (Su), Betty Sanberg (Darwood) and Delores Schulte. He is also survived by many other relatives and friends.

Visitation was held on Friday, April 4th 2025 from 5:00 PM to 7:00 PM at the Minnehaha Funeral Home (101 Leslie Dr, Garretson, SD 57030). A memorial service was held on Saturday, April 5th 2025 at 10:30 AM at the Zion Lutheran Church (212 N Center Ave, Garretson, SD 57030).

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be directed to the Zion Lutheran Church Building Fund, Garretson American Legion, or the Garretson Museum.
