He was predeceased by: his parents, Elmer Hoven and Hilda Hoven (Bly); and his siblings, Robert, Howard, LaVonne Howorth, Darlene Grocott and Helen Ellefson.
He is survived by: his wife Madelyn Fairfield; his children, Marcel Boscaljon (David), Jan Rinken (Doug), Brad Hoven (Suzette), Mary Larson (Steve) and Ann Fogel (David); his grandchildren, Chelsea Stills (Tyler), Alyssa Howe (Forrest), Nate Boscaljon (Anna), Cole Boscaljon, Gretchen Bisson (Matthew), Ben Rinken (Jen), Jed Rinken, Ian Rinken (Sadie), Ryan Larson (Chris), Cody Larson, Addison Fogel and Eli Fogel; his great grandchildren, Ava, Evelyn, Beckham Stills, Savannah Howe, Owen, Aiden Bisson, Aubrey, Asher, Remi, Hayes Rinken, Caleb Westerbur, Luella and Paisley Larson; his sisters, Pauline Ellefson, Shirley Johnson and Janet Davis; and his siblings-in-law, Dian Hoven, Rita Fairfield and Perry Ellefson.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be directed to the Garretson Fire Department or the Garretson American Legion.
