It is with deep sorrow that we announce the death of Dean A. Engebretson of Garretson, South Dakota, who passed away on May 15, 2021, at the age of 94, leaving to mourn family and friends. He was predeceased by: his parents, Ralph H. Engebretson and Alice Engebretson (Arneson); his sister Ruby Phillips; and his great grandchildren, Bryar and Tori.
He is survived by: his wife Joan Amundson; his children, Deanna Hentges, Karen Jewell (John) of Glenwood Springs, CO, Steven Engebretson (Michele) of Ashburn, VA, Laura Nussbaum (Craig) and Kevin Engebretson (Anne) of Polson, MT; and his brothers, John Engebretson of Dallas, TX and Donald Engebretson of Prior Lake, MN. He is also survived by 17 grandchildren; 14 great grandchildren.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be directed to the Zion Lutheran Elevator Fund, or any Garretson organization.
