We are sad to announce that on October 13, 2023 we had to say goodbye to Carol Marlene Lane of Garretson, South Dakota, born in Spring Valley, Illinois. Leave a sympathy message to the family in the guestbook on this memorial page of Carol Marlene Lane to show support.

She was predeceased by: her parents, Roy Lane and Doris Lane; and her siblings, Merlin Harris, Sam Lane and Bette Eno.

She is survived by: her former husband Robert Bertotti; her children, John R Bertotti (Reesa) of Garretson and Amy Bertotti-Kingery (Allan Scott) of Muscatine; her grandchildren, Morgan Simons, Keaton Simons, Austin Bertotti-Kingery, Connor Nathan Min Bertotti and Jade Bertotti; her great grandchild Taylor Lee Simons; and her sister-in-law Nancy Lane of Winnsboro. She is also survived by several nieces and nephews.

In lieu of flowers, memorials can be made to Faith United Church of Christ in Muscatine in memory of Carol.

“Aunt Carol was a favorite aunt. When I was a small child, she lived nearby which allowed us to spend time together (and spoil me with gifts). I remember my first “away vacation” was with her and Uncle Bob (although there was some homesick crying at night…LOL). In my later years (2011), I enjoyed visiting her with John and his family in South Dakota (I didn’t cry that time!). I appreciated her unique sense of humor (i.e. the gift of crackers and black Santa…. our inside joke). Rest in peace.”
