He was predeceased by: his parents, Alice Shields Sr. (Eagle) and Eddie Shields; his son CJ Shields; his granddaughter Maliyah Shields; his grandparents, Mark, Doris Shields, Harman and Mabel Eagle; his uncles, Sherman Eagle, Wayne Shields and Mark Shields Sr.; and his aunt Jeanie Eagle.
He is survived by: his children, Rhiannon Ronita Shields of Fort Thompson, Lynette Brooke Shields of Calvin James, Madeline Alyce Shields, Maleena Shields, Glenn of Fort Thompson, Maddie of Fort Thompson and Tina; his grandchildren, Shawna Rae Shields, Glenn "Chris" Shields, Danny Ray Sazue Sr., Jacob Scott Sazue, Felicity Lynn Shields, Michael James Farmer Jr., Latisha Alsephine Shields, Harlee Adrianna Hawk, Cassandra JoAnne Shields, Biana Doniyah Faith Shields, Amerie Elianna Shields, Caprice Julianne Shields, Alexander, Miller, Marissa Claire Bauder and Aiden Dean Bauder; his great grandchildren, Bentley James Hawk, Mila Renae Hawk, Olivia Joanne Big Eagle, Cambryne Grace, Kaizley Gen, Danny Ray Jr. and Antoine Eagle Sazue; his sisters, Carla Spears of Pierre, SD and Debbie Shields of Fort Thompson, SD; his uncles, Delbert Shields of Pukwana, SD and Donnie Eagle of Mission, SD; and his aunt Alsephine Joseph of Pukwana, SD.
A procession will be held on Monday, March 3rd 2025 at 3:00 PM at the Hickey Funeral Home (215 S Main St, Chamberlain, SD 57325). A wake will be held on Monday, March 3rd 2025 at 7:00 PM at the Fort Thompson Tribal Hall. A burial will be held on Tuesday, March 4th 2025 at 1:00 PM at the same location.
