LaVern Ellwanger Obituary
With heavy hearts, we announce the death of LaVern Ellwanger of Fort Pierre, South Dakota, who passed away on February 4, 2025 at the age of 98. Family and friends are welcome to send flowers or leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
She was predeceased by: her sisters, LaVaun (John) and Leona Schroeder (Wallbrink); her spouse Clair R. Schwenn; her former husband Rudy Ellwanger; her son-in-law Kevin Sarvis; and her daughter Kathleen Hettle.
She is survived by: her children, Carl (Donna), Barbara (Bob), Kelton (Electric), Mary Sarvis, Kay (Steve) and Magdanz; her son-in-law Joe Hettle (Klamath); and her sister-in-law Edith Schwenn. She is also survived by 13 grandchildren, 24 great grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews.
Visitation was held on Monday, February 17th 2025 from 9:30 AM to 10:30 AM at the Lutheran Memorial Church (320 E Prospect Ave, Pierre, SD 57501). A funeral service was held on Monday, February 17th 2025 at 10:30 AM at the same location.
