Velma Auren Obituary
With solemn hearts, we announce the passing of Velma Auren of Flandreau, South Dakota, whose presence will be deeply missed, having departed on January 16, 2025 at the age of 80. Family and friends are welcome to send flowers or leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
She was predeceased by: her parents, Kenneth Damm and Georgia Damm (Earl); her son Dennis Auren; her siblings, Norma Janssen, Raymond and Dwayne Damm; and her stepfather Leavern Krier.
She is survived by: her husband Vernon Auren; her children, Cheryl Gibbs (Dave), Teresa Peckham (Jim) and Jamie Gaspar (Jesse); her grandchildren, Ryan Gibbs (Stephanie), Trevor Gibbs (Dana), Nichole Sullivan (Dustin), Jim Gibbs (Steffanie), Tiffany Bowers (Justin), Amber Jensen (Mikala), Ryan Peckham, Matt Peckham (Cynthia), Nicole Severson (Jason), James Auren (Ann), Jaelynn Gaspar (Brooklynn), Julianna Gaspar and Joseph Gaspar; and her brothers, Darrell Damm (Judy) and Richard Damm. She is also survived by 18 great-grandchildren.
Visitation was held on Tuesday, January 21st 2025 from 5:00 PM to 7:00 PM at the Skroch Funeral Chapel (409 E 2nd Ave, Flandreau, SD 57028). A prayer was held on Tuesday, January 21st 2025 at 7:00 PM at the same location. A funeral service will be held on Wednesday, January 22nd 2025 at 10:30 AM at the Second Presbyterian Church (101 N Prairie St, Flandreau, SD 57028).
