He was predeceased by: his parents, John Conkling and Marian Conkling (Larsen); his wife Rachel Conkling; his half-siblings, Bill, Jackie and Barbara Diedrich; and his brother-in-law John Tanck.
He is survived by: his half-brothers, Dan Conkling of Yankton, SD and John Conkling of Yankton, SD; and his siblings-in-law, Charles Tanck (Betty) and Mary Tanck of Kansas City, MO. He is also survived by several nieces, nephews, and great-nieces and nephews.
