He was predeceased by: his parents, James Johnson and Myrtle Johnson (Hanson); his siblings, Ralph and Leanne Alberts; and his brother-in-law Dean Alberts.
He is survived by: his wife Ione (Moore); his children, Janelle Peterson of Dell Rapids, SD, Steve Johnson (Mary) of Sioux Falls, SD and Kyle Johnson (Barbara) of Flandreau, SD; his grandchildren, Adam Peterson (Mandy), Ben Peterson (Jenny), Courtney Meyer (Dusty), Tanner Johnson (Jacqueline), Casey Johnson (Jessica), Keri Johnson and Kayla Johnson; his brother Charles Johnson (Caroline); and his sister-in-law Jo Johnson of Rogers, AK. He is also survived by 8 great grandchildren, many nieces, nephews, and cousins.
