He was predeceased by: his parents, Joseph Burns and Marie Burns (Smith); his sons, Michael and Marty; his brothers, William, Charles and James; and his brothers-in-law, Peter Powers and Roger Peper.
He is survived by: his wife Rita Headrick of Flandreau; his sons, Mathew and Matt (Leslie); his granddaughters, Meg and Colleen of San Antonio, TX.; his siblings, Mary Powers of Flandreau, SD and Robert (Donna); and his siblings-in-law, Marlys Burns of Duluth, MN, Shelia Burns of Las Vegas, NV, Betty Peper of Millsboro, DE, Beverly Phelan (Greg), Denise Snuttjer (Randy), Ken Headrick (Dee) and Larry Headrick (Gail). He is also survived by numerous nephews and nieces.
Masks and social distancing will be required of all attending the visitation and funeral service.
