He was predeceased by: his parents, Anna Hagel (Ahlers) and Clarence Hagel; his wife Jane Hagel (Nielsen); and his grandparents, Lydia Hagel (Buntrock), Edward Hagel and Dietrich Ahlers.
He is survived by: his children, Hugh and Ayrshire; his brother Angus; his children, Rochelle Hagel (Ralph Knickrehm), Rich Hagel (Stefanie), Paula Hawks (Stephen) and Dan Hagel; his grandchildren, Cassandra, Hugh Knickrehm, Emma Hagel, Ruby, Tristan and Amelia Hawks; his brother James Hagel; and his sister-in-law Cheryl Hagel.
