He was predeceased by: his father Dennis M. Peterson, Sr.; and his nephews, Joe and Michael. He is survived by: his mother Judy C. Allen; his son Brenden Hahn; and his siblings, Denise M. Peterson Hammer (Troy) of Flandreau, Dennis "Mickey" M. Peterson, Jr. of Flandreau and Corey Peterson of Flandreau. He is also survived by many aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, and cousins.
