He was predeceased by: his parents, Ruben Raile and Lenora Raile (Fauth); his siblings, Bruce and ElMae Helfenstein; his granddaughter Avery Jo Brockel; his brothers-in-law, Ervin Helfenstein and Tony Brenneman; and his nephew Kim Helfenstein.
He is survived by: his wife Margaret Schaeffer; his children, Wendy Brockel (Ron), Scott Raile (Stephanie) and Liza Mettler (Mike); his grandchildren, Brady Brockel, Joshua Raile, Samantha Raile, Cheyloh Brockel, Devan Brockel, Ella Brockel and Sadie Mettler; his sisters, Ora Opp (Walter) of Eureka, Gwen Brenneman of Windsor, CO and Nancy Larsen (Bill) of Pierre, SD; his sons-in-law, Ron and Mike; his granddaughter Maycee; and also Scott. He is also survived by many nieces and nephews.
