He was predeceased by: his parents, Frank "Doc" Petrik and Ella "Cook" Petrik (Brotherson); his daughter Faith; his brother-in-law Leonard Pesicka; his sister Shirley Payer (Leo); and his in-laws, Elmer and Dorcas Koerner.
He is survived by: his wife Karen Koerner; his children, David Petrik of Shinnston, WV, Ben Petrik (Nicole) of Epiphany, SD and Naomi; his grandchildren, Trevor (Shawndra), Gabriel, Amelia, Zachary, Madison and Josie; and his sister Carol Pesicka of Armour. He is also survived by many nieces, nephews, and friends.
Visitation was held on Thursday, August 29th 2024 from 5:00 PM to 7:00 PM at the Ethan United Methodist Church (206 E Ash St, Ethan, SD 57334). A prayer was held on Thursday, August 29th 2024 from 7:00 PM to 7:30 PM at the same location. A memorial service was held on Friday, August 30th 2024 from 10:30 AM to 11:00 AM at the Koehn Bros Funeral Home - Lake Andes (11 W Main St, Lake Andes, SD 57356).
