He was predeceased by: his parents, Donald McBrayer and Janette McBrayer (Lambertz); his son Dennis "Red" McBrayer; his sister Patricia; and his siblings-in-law, Robert Oberembt, Javern Hofer, Judy Waldera and Mona McBrayer.

He is survived by: his wife Joan Murray; his children, Donnie (Bev) of Ethan, Jeff (Kathy) of Sioux Falls, Brian (Michelle) of Ethan and Vicki (Dave) of Ethan; and his siblings, Jim McBrayer (Kay), Jack McBrayer, Rose Oberembt, Daniel McBrayer (Sharon), Peggy Stoduto (Mike), Mike McBrayer (Charleen) and Joyce Roth (James). He is also survived by his family, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren.

Masks are requested at the funeral services.
