It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Vernon H. Stroschein of Estelline, South Dakota, who passed away on February 2, 2022, at the age of 96, leaving to mourn family and friends. He was predeceased by: his wife Shirley A. Warkenthien; and his siblings, Earl, Ellis, Leon, Marvin, Clarence and Ethel.
He is survived by: his parents, Ernest Stroschein and Clara Stroschein (Timm); his children, Dale Stroschein (Kim) of Toronto, SD, Terry Stroschein (Kathy) of Loudon, TN, Dawn Saathoff (Steve) of Sioux Falls, SD, Todd Stroschein (Shawna) of Clear Lake, SD and Donna Welling (Brian) of Sioux Falls, SD; his grandchildren, Amber Kollars (Jeff), Ashley VanDeBerg (Aaron), Angela Harrenstein (Joe), Andrew Stroschein (Samantha), Kody Stroschein, Michael Saathoff (Ashlyann), Megan Klueber (Austin), Britney Burns (Apollo), Linda Dvorak (Kevin), Nicole Stroschein (Justin Homer) and Kamra Jensen (Scott); his stepgrandchildren, Jacqueline Tolbert (Josh), Jamie Steinmetz (Nick), Adam and Jeremy Welling; his great grandchildren, Jack, Joslyn Kollars, Brayden, Brielle VanDeBerg, Tucker, Dakota, Ryder Stroschein, Layla, April Saathoff, Obi Jensen and Everly Harrenstein; his stepgreat-grandchildren, Mya, Isaac Burns, Emma Welling and Noah Tolbert; and his sisters-in-law, Lavonne Brekke of Clark, SD, Loris Kannegieter of Lake Norden, SD, Gaylen Grensberg (Larry) of Willow Lake, SD and Bobette Warkenthien of Willow Lake, SD. He is also survived by many nieces and nephews.
