He was predeceased by: his parents, Michael F. Sutton (F.) and Elizabeth V. Sutton (Cavanaugh); his siblings, Cities', Eden Prairie, Purgatory Creek and Pioneer Trail; his wife Ione; and his siblings, John L., Edward S., Jerome J., Isabel C. Dunn, Mary E. Parsley, Patricia A. Fallon and Jeanne B. Almen.
He is survived by: his brother Philip F. of Kansas City, MO. He is also survived by 32 nieces and nephews, and untold grand & great-grand nieces and nephews.
Uncle Mike's regard for his family is such that in 2012 to honor his mother, he established a scholarship at the South Dakota State University Foundation for students with financial need.
