He is survived by: his wife JoAnne Marie Hein of Erwin, SD; his children, Melissa Apland (Stuart) of Brookings, SD and LeRoy Trenary (Debbie) of Chester, SD; his grandchildren, Alysha Henderson of Ham Lake, MN, MaKaylyn, Maddie, DiLyn Borecky of Chester, SD, DeLanie and Sloane Borah of Chester, SD; his siblings, Jim Trenary (JoAnne) of Brookings, SD and Betty Marken (Phil) of Erwin, SD; and his siblings-in-law, Judy Brown (Ronnie) of Lake Preston, SD, Donnie Hein (Petra) of Kansas City, KS, Carla Stanley (George) of Brookings, SD, Connie Karsmizki (Rob) of Manhattan, KS and Mike Hein (Dustine) of Egan, SD. He is also survived by many nieces and nephews.
