He was predeceased by: his parents, Aloysius Berg and Veronica Berg (Marnach); his brother Leonard; and his sisters-in-law, Joan and Anita Berg.
He is survived by: his wife Karen Baumgart; his daughter Jennifer Zulk (Jim); his grandchildren, Jennalyn and Jadyn of Emery; his children, Melissa of Sioux Falls and Randy (Joy); his grandchildren, Macy and Peyton of Emery; his brother Larry of Alexandria; and his aunt Bernice of Texas. He is also survived by several nieces and nephews.
