It is with great sadness that we announce the death of David W. DeMarteleare of Elkton, South Dakota, born in Hendricks, Minnesota, who passed away on July 27, 2022, at the age of 71, leaving to mourn family and friends. He was predeceased by: his parents, Melvin DeMarteleare and Betty Lou DeMarteleare (Hegerfeld); his children, Monica and Donald Strom Jr.; his sister Michelle; his brother-in-law Dean Lang; and his nephews, Travis Stuefen and Dave Rearick.
He is survived by: his former wife Laureen Christensen; his wife Diane Strom; his children, Karmen Groos (Darin) of Sioux Falls, SD, Karri DeMarteleare (Brandon) of Edmond, OK, Donnie Strom (April), Dustin Strom, Darren Strom (Sarah) of Mankato, MN, Michelle Patino of Sturgis, SD and Brandy Tschetter (Kyle) of Brandon, SD; his daughter-in-law Amber Mogler (Brian) of Brookings, SD; his mother-in-law Mavis Verschelde of Ivanhoe, MN; and his siblings, Georgia Lang of Gillette, WY, Keith DeMarteleare (Linda) of Lake Preston, SD, Kevin DeMarteleare (Peggy Sue) and Pennie Skime (Tom) of Elkton, SD.. He is also survived by 18 grandchildren, 14 great-grandchildren.
