It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Marlys Erickson of Elk Point, South Dakota, who passed away on January 12, 2025, at the age of 92, leaving to mourn family and friends. As Marlys departs from this earthly realm, her essence lingers — a whisper on the wind, a ripple on the water — a testament to the enduring power of love to transcend the boundaries of life and death. Though Marlys may no longer walk beside us, her spirit lives on in the memories and the legacy Marlys leaves behind.
She was predeceased by: her parents, John Gruseth and Ethel Lund Gruseth; her husband Arthur E. Erickson; her siblings, Arlene Howard and Don Gruseth; her daughter Amy Erickson; and her granddaughter Emily Erickson.
She is survived by: her children, Jeremy Erickson (Geneva), Ann MacConnell (Frank), Leslie Nelson (Todd), Lisa McInerney (Marty) and Kari Mau (Tony). She is also survived by 9 grandchildren, 9 great-grandchildren.
