It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Karen D. Nitzschke (Eagle Butte, South Dakota), who passed away on January 21, 2018, at the age of 76, leaving to mourn family and friends. She is survived by: her daughter Tasina; her grandsons, Dylan and Noah; her siblings, Franklin, Greg, Les and Candace; her nieces and nephews, Carol Jean Morgan, Ashton Smith, Kyanne Dillabaugh, Vicki Ducheneaux, Burt Dillabaugh, Zachary Ducheneaux, Guthrie Ducheneaux and Jamie Ducheneaux; her husband Elmer; her parents, Frank and Babe; her siblings, Bud, John, Wayne, Clair, Joan and Rochelle; and her nieces and nephews, Kathleen Dillabaugh, Lisa Farlee, Allison Peterson, Austin Anderson, Shawn Paul Smith and Matthew Ducheneaux. She is also survived by many nieces and nephews.
When Elmer developed Alzheimer's disease she spent years tending to him at home the best she could until he eventually went into a nursing home.
