She was predeceased by: her parents, Walter Berndt and Martha Berndt (Hauck) of Avon, SD.; and her siblings, Ruth Berndt, Lorraine Schempp and Norman Berndt.
She is survived by: her husband Don; and her sons, Steve Bitterman (Steph) of Huron and Ron Bitterman (Kristi) of Mitchell. She is also survived by three granddaughters; two step grandchildren; one great grandson and five step great grandchildren.
