He was predeceased by: his parents, Robert Elston and Ida Elston (Hanson); and his siblings, Louise, Russell, Avis, Keith, Esther and Roger (Donna).
He is survived by: his stepchildren, Barb Sharp (Marv), Tony Jorgensen and Mark Jorgensen (Marcia); his wife Donna Sjoland; his brother Sam Elston; and his stepchildren, Sonya Elsinger (Wayne), Heather Medcalf (Ricky), Kiley Sorenson (Mark), Eric Elsinger, Lori Amundson (Brian), Jeremy Amundson (Jennifer), Brittany Amundson (William), Brooke Ellingson (Ryan), Lisa Christion (Herbert), Kailey Dunnam, Lynda Rave (Bill), Jeremy Rave (Breanna), Sarah Nelson (Avrum), Beth Nelson (Darres), Jeff VanDam (Brenda), Brett, Logan, Miriah VanDam, John VanDam and Aden VanDam.
