He was loved and cherished by many people including: his parents, Leo Fitzgerald and Naomi Fitzgerald (Lowder); his wife Mary Reecy; his son Bret (Ashleigh); his grandchildren, Tristan, Keira, Gwenevere and Quinn-Killian of Triangle, VA; his sons, Scot (Rachel) of Canton, SD and Dean (Jen); his grandchildren, Kellen and Erin of Melbourne, FL; his daughters, Kathleen (Roscoe Taylor) of Houston, TX and Bridget of Orlando, FL.; his brother Jerry (Nettie Fitzgerald) of Gehring, NE; and his sister-in-law Gail Fitzgerald of Colombia, MO..

In lieu of flowers, the family has asked for people who are so inclined to donate to The National Parkinson's Foundation.
