With solemn hearts, we announce the passing of Leroy Nielsen of Dell Rapids, South Dakota, whose presence will be deeply missed, having departed on March 28, 2025 at the age of 97. He was predeceased by: his parents, Jens Nielsen and Jenny Nielsen (Tholound); his wife Mary Jean; his sister Francis Albrecht; his son Stevan; and his grandson Jonathan Nielsen.
He is survived by: his children, James Nielsen (Karen) of Dell Rapids, SD, Susan Hilmoe (Don) of Sioux Falls, SD, Paul Nielsen (Rosie) of Dell Rapids, SD. and Terry Nielsen (Renee) of Dell Rapids, SD..
Visitation was held on Wednesday, April 2nd 2025 from 5:00 PM to 7:00 PM at the Minnehaha Funeral Home (104 E 4th St, Dell Rapids, SD 57022). A Mass of Christian burial was held on Thursday, April 3rd 2025 at 10:30 AM at the St. Mary Catholic Church (608 E 8th St, Dell Rapids, SD 57022).
