In loving memory of Janet E. May of Dell Rapids, South Dakota, who departed this world on March 3, 2025 at the age of 78. Janet leaves behind a legacy remembered by family and friends. She was predeceased by: her parents, Otto Hammer and Evelyn Hammer (Weigel); her husband Ray; her father-in-law Ole Wangberg; and her brothers-in-law, Bob May, Dick May, Martin May, Jim Brende, Kenny Wangberg and Danny Brenden.
She is survived by: her children, Russ May (Tami), Lake Madison, Chuck May (Ronda) and Sherri Wolles (Robert); her granddaughter Krista May of Brookings; her children, Morgan Rosenboom (Tyson) of Brookings, Austin May (Regan) of Brookings, Cameron May (Reagan) of Brookings, Daniel May of Brookings, Connor May of Brookings, Courtney Wolles of Faith, SD and Jacob Wolles; her great grandchildren, Grady and Reid Rosenboom; her brother Ronnie Hammer (Elaine); her mother-in-law Viola Wangberg; and her sisters-in-law, Barb May of Tucson, AZ, Sharlene May of Martin, SD, Brenda May of Tucson, AZ, Ruth Brende of Cambridge, MN, Joan Wangberg and Kathy Brenden of Green Valley, AZ. She is also survived by many nieces and nephews.
Visitation was held on Thursday, March 6th 2025 from 5:00 PM to 7:00 PM at the Skroch Funeral Chapel (214 N Main Ave, Colman, SD 57017). A memorial service was held on Friday, March 7th 2025 at 10:30 AM at the Lutheran Church of Dell Rapids (701 Orleans Ave, Dell Rapids, SD 57022).
