It is with great sadness that we announce the death of James Arthur Hymans of Dell Rapids, South Dakota, born in Doon, Iowa, who passed away on January 20, 2024, at the age of 82, leaving to mourn family and friends. He was predeceased by: his parents, Henry Hymans and Gertie Hymans (Boon); and his brothers, Lyle and Harold. He is survived by: his wife Ellen; his children, Deb Diede (Tim) of Yankton, SD, Scott Hymans (Rena) of Sturgis, SD, Jamie Benz (Bruce) of Richfield, MN and Tammy Jensen (Larry) of Union Center, SD; and his siblings, Priscilla Weeldreyer (Jerry) of Parker, SD, Arvin Hymans (Mary) of Lake Norden, SD, Patricia Froelich (Harlan), Dianne Hakeman (Keith) and Pamela Duggan of Viborg, SD. He is also survived by 13 grandchildren; 15 great grandchildren.

We sat on your porch years ago, and we talked about our families, as we waited for Budget. Then Jim drove me back to my motel and picked me up in the morning, when we again sat on your porch. I want to thank you and Jim for your kindness, and patience with me and Budget. I am so sorry about Jim. May God bless you and your family. Linda from California”
