He was predeceased by: his parents, John D. Fox and Mollie Fox (Grothe); his son Monte; and his siblings, Barbara, Luella, Illona, Cliff, Jim and Bob.
He is survived by: his wife Jean; his children, Cherrlyn Fast (Darrell) of Huron, Kim Gross (Kyle) of Iroquois and Tammy Albrecht (Jeff) of De Smet; and his brother Darwin Fox (Clara Mae) of De Smet. He is also survived by 11 grandchildren and 22 great-grandchildren.
