Edward H. Hoek Obituary

With solemn hearts, we announce the passing of Edward H. Hoek of De Smet, South Dakota, born in Montrose, South Dakota, whose presence will be deeply missed, having departed on July 12, 2024 at the age of 97. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.

As Edward departs from this earthly realm, his essence lingers — a whisper on the wind, a ripple on the water — a testament to the enduring power of love to transcend the boundaries of life and death. Though Edward may no longer walk beside us, his spirit lives on in the memories and the legacy Edward leaves behind.

He was predeceased by: his parents, Adrian Hoek and Willimina Hoek (Veenvass); his wife Marilyn Shultis; his sons, Brad and Paul Hoek; and his brothers, Leonard, Gene and Donnie Hoek.

He is survived by: his children, Roberta Hagen (Ron) of Watertown, SD, Myrna Crook of St. Simons Island, GA, Mark Hoek (Jill) of Estelline, SD and Brian Hoek (Cindy) of Carrolton, GA. He is also survived by eleven grandchildren, fifteen great-grandchildren, and two great-great-grandchildren.
