He was predeceased by: his parents, Earl Cavanaugh and Clara Cavanaugh (Maney). He is survived by: his wife Judy (Leitholt); his siblings, Margaret Hendrix, Alice Rounseville Phelps, Delores Likewise (Dee) and Donald Cavanaugh; his sons, Daniel Woodward and Steve Woodward; his daughter-in-law Annie Woodward; his sister Mary Lou Evans; his siblings-in-law, Larry Likewise and Suzanne Cavanaugh (Skyberg); his nephews, Michael Woodward, James Cavanaugh (Mathews Vattamala) and Michael Palmer; his grandsons, Nicholas Woodward, Scott Woodward, Matthew Woodward (Kobi) and Jacob Woodward; and his great grandchildren, Cylie, Tory, Colton, Ford and Hudson. He is also survived by other loving family members and friends.
Visitation was held on Thursday, April 24th 2025 from 5:00 PM to 7:00 PM at the Crawford-Osthus Funeral Chapel (208 3rd St SW, De Smet, SD 57231). A funeral Mass was held on Friday, April 25th 2025 at 10:00 AM at the St. Thomas Aquinas Catholic Church (512 3rd St SW, De Smet, SD 57231).
