She was predeceased by: her husband Hilbert Vernon; and her grandson Joshua Kortemeyer. She is survived by: her children, Sharon Papendick of Burnsville, MN, Richard Schardin of Madison, SD, Janice Schardin of Baltic, SD, Diane Neu (Mark) of Alcester, SD and Bradley Schardin (Vicki) of Marion, SD; her grandchildren, Sara Albrecht, Sharlene Peterson (Johnny), Brandon Schardin (Rachel), Jennifer Grover, Ryan Kortemeyer (Megan), Matthew Neu (Renee), Scott Neu (Alexa), Todd Neu (Kara), Trenten Neu (Courtney), Andrea Flyger (Alan), Brock Schardin and Cara Schardin (Tyler Gerdes); her great grandchildren, Kaleb, Siena Albrecht, Savannah, Maya, John Peterson, McKayla, Adam Schardin, Holland, Harper, Finley, Crew Kortemeyer, Presley, Bennett, Teagan, Tucker, Jensen, Vernon and Emma Neu; her stepgrandsons, Keaton Stelzer, Shea, Taya and Jade 'Anitra Flyger; and her siblings-in-law, Viola Hansen (Schardin) and Harlan Barck. She is also survived by numerous nieces, nephews and life-long friends.
A public visitation with family present will be held Thursday from 5:00pm to 7:00pm at the church with masks and social distancing required.
