He was predeceased by: his parents, Forrest Payne and Blossom Payne (Gries); his parents-in-law, Chris and Cecil Peterson (Clark); his siblings-in-law, Myrlen (Darrell Wakehouse), Robert Arrasmith and John Bottema; and his granddaughter Rebecca Payne.
He is survived by: his wife Janet I. Peterson; his children, David of Dakota Dunes and Nancy (James Deming) of Queen Creek, Arizona; his siblings, Gladys Bottema of Wichita, Kansas and Terry (Janice Payne) of Woolridge, Missouri; his grandchildren, Heidi (Rick Witrock), Mellisa Payne of Spencer, William Payne of Everly and Lindsey Potter of Mesa, Arizona; and his friends, Duane and Tammie Cory of Sioux City, Iowa.. He is also survived by ten great-grandchildren.
