He was loved and cherished by many people including: his parents, Lewis M Compton and Evangeline Compton; his wife Betty Compton of Custer; his daughters, Janice Coates (Jim) of Custer and Vicki Keierleber (Daniel) of Newcastle, WY; his grandchildren, Cody Coates (Bridget) of Thermopolis, WY, Candace Keierleber of Federal Way, WA and Whitney Cosenza (Justin) of Casper, WY; his great grandchildren, Zayden, Jasmine Cosenza, Jackson, Grant and Andrew Coates; and his siblings, Lewis J. Compton of Hill City, SD and Augusta Nissen of Billings, MT. He was also cherished by many extended family and special friends.
In lieu of flowers, a memorial has been established for the proposed St. John the Baptist Catholic Church's gathering area.
