He was predeceased by: his parents, Harvey E. Mahrt and Anna S. Orning (Mahrt); his sister Anna Marie Warnke; and his grandson Martin E. Platek. He is survived by: his wife Colleen R. (Wood); his brother Donald Mahrt (Rosemary); his children, Debbie Miner (George), Cheri Ollila (Mark), Annie Platek (Steve), Marty Mahrt (Susan) and Kathleen Lewis (Mikal); his grandchildren, Kara Schultz (Michael), Col. Brandon Scott, Joseph Platek (Danielle), Kellie Kronberg (Kyle), Thomas Platek (Lindsey), Forrest Lewis, Grace Kienzle (Ryan), Anna Lewis, Jonathan Lewis and David Lewis; and his daughter-in-law Colleen Wood. He is also survived by seven great-grandchildren, and many nieces and nephews.
