He was predeceased by: his parents, Leo Schmitz and Evelyn Schmitz (Ackerman). He is survived by: his children, Susan Schmitz-Garrett (Joseph) of Fountain, CO and Adrian John (A. J.); his brothers, Paul Schmitz (MaryAnn) of Custer, SD, Dale Schmitz (Pat) of Broomfield, CO, Darld Schmitz (Joyce) of Bismarck, ND and Curt Schmitz of Custer, SD.; and his grandchildren, Shannon Garrett of Fountain, CO, James Garrett of Castle Rock, CO, Benjamin Schmitz of Watertown, WI, Grace Schmitz of Milwaukee, WI, Stephen Schmitz of Pensacola, FL, Kate Garrett of Fountain, CO, Luke Schmitz of Littleton, CO and Anne Schmitz of Littleton, CO. He is also survived by six nieces and four nephews, and many, many cousins, aunts and uncles.
