She was loved and cherished by many people including: her parents, Ernest Heppner and Hilda Heppner; her husband Joe Carter; her sister Yvonne Hamilton (Cliff); her son Mike (Stacy Reynolds); her grandchildren, Jennifer (John Grant) and Mike (Stephanie Carter); and her great grandchildren, Terrence, Sharon, Robert, Xavier and Jameson.
In lieu of flowers, a memorial is being established to recognize the critical care nurses that provided exceptional service to Iola in her last few days of her life at Custer Monument Health.
