He was predeceased by: his parents, Edgar Oakland and Dena Oakland (VanArendonk); his sister Maureen DeVries; and his great grandchild Brock Bordewyk. He is survived by: his wife Cecelia; his sister Joanne Schaffeld; his son Donovan Oakland (Mary); his grandchildren, Amy VanderPol (Bryan), Tracy Reed (Mike), Jen DeLange (Darin), Jami Pricket (Justin) and Lindsy Schmidt (Jdee); his daughter Wanda VanAuken (Ralph); and his grandchildren, Christopher, Joshua, Felicia, Danielle and Sarah. He is also survived by 16 great grandchildren and four great-great grandchildren.
Visitation was held on Monday, March 31st 2025 from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM at the Our Savior's Lutheran Church. A celebration of life was held on Monday, March 31st 2025 at 11:00 AM at the same location. A burial was held on Monday, March 31st 2025 at 2:00 PM at the Ebenezer Lutheran Cemetery.
