He was predeceased by: his parents, Harold Dennert and Louise Dennert (Buntrock); his stepmother Elinor Dennert (Eichler); his sister Rhea Davis (Bob); and his son-in-law Dwight Kampa.
He is survived by: his wife Doris Bohling of John's Lutheran Church; his children, Joann Saunders (John), Cheryl Kampa, Terry Dennert, Barb Miller (Brent) and Carla Meints (Scott); and his siblings, H. Paul Dennert (Peggy), Doris Larson (Alfred) and Alice Hanson (Tom).
Visitation will be held on Friday, February 28th 2025 from 5:00 PM to 7:00 PM at the Spitzer-Miller Funeral Home (1111 S Main St, Aberdeen, SD 57401). A prayer will be held on Friday, February 28th 2025 at 7:00 PM at the same location. A funeral service will be held on Saturday, March 1st 2025 from 10:00 AM to 10:45 AM at the St. John's Lutheran Church - Columbia (3 N James St, Columbia, SD 57433). The military honors will be held on Saturday, March 1st 2025 at 11:00 AM at the American Legion Post #58. A burial will be held on Saturday, March 1st 2025 at 11:45 AM at the Sunset Memorial Gardens - Aberdeen (5851 East US-12, Aberdeen, SD 57401).
