She was predeceased by: her mother Georgia Miller; and her in-laws, Donell and Betty Nelson. She is survived by: her husband James Nelson of Hartford, SD; her sons, Dustin Evans (Krista) of Mankato, MN, Derek Evans of Sioux Falls, SD and Jared Nelson (Regina) of Monroe, SD; her grandchildren, Madison Evans, Hadley, Mason, Avery Nelson, Axel and Paxton Evans; and her brothers, Robert Hall (Mickey), Dan Hall (Tammy) and Morgan Paul (DeeDee).

Visitation was held on Saturday, December 21st 2024 from 11:00 AM to 3:00 PM at the Hartford American Legion.

In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be made to the Hartford Fire Department in Monica's honor.
