He was predeceased by: his parents, Willie Asselt and Ramona Van Asselt (Clauson); his grandparents, Herman Clauson, Hilda Clauson, Art and Sena Van Asselt; his sister-in-law Darla Van Asselt; and his stepgranddaughter Hannah.
He is survived by: his wife Peggy Collins Kuper; his siblings, Rhonda Anderson (Dave), Mary Will (Mike) and Thomas Van Asselt (Heather Bowden); his stepchildren, Douglas "DJ" Kuper (Amanda) and Heather Hardisty (Adam); and his stepgrandchildren, Tori, Anaya, Aria, Hayley, Alex and Hope. He is also survived by many nieces and nephews.
