It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Joyce M. Farr (Colton, South Dakota), who passed away on March 6, 2019, at the age of 93, leaving to mourn family and friends. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.

She was predeceased by: her parents, Fred Severson and Alma Severson; and her husband Cecil. She is survived by: her children, Dean (Pat) of Woodruff, Lana Wold (late Pedar) of Hilo and Laura Anderson (Gaylon) of Sioux Falls; and her adoptive son Kumar Thapa (Sangita). She is also survived by 8 grandchildren, and 9 great-grandchildren.

The family requests that in lieu of flowers donations can be made to "Cure Alzheimer's Fund".

“When I was in 3rd grade, I visited her at her nursing home to interview her (and write a paper). Ever since then, I have thought about her every once in a while. She was 89 when I saw her, and I remember thinking that she was truly the sweetest person I had ever met. Tonight, I decided to see how she was, and I was incredibly sorry to hear about her death in 2019. She will live in everyone's hearts. Joyce's faith was strong, so I'll see her in Heaven when I get there one day, -Macey Wigg”
