He is survived by: his wife Margaret Brandenburger of Clear Lake, SD; his son Martin Brandenburger (Diane) of Revillo, SD; his grandchildren, Justin Fischer (Elli Grabow), Jason Fischer (Michele), Ryan McGuire (Kimberly), Coltin Brandenburger (Abigail), Tori Brandenburger and Faith Brandenburger; his great grandchildren, Trystan Fischer, CoryLee Fischer, Gemma Lynn Lacanne, Mason Fischer, Sullivan McGuire, Rory McGuire, Ben Brandenburger and Elsy Brandenburger; his siblings, Allen Brandenburger (Brenda), Leroy Brandenburger (Linda) and Florence Stricherz (Leroy); and his siblings-in-law, Joe Pedersen, Esther Olson and Delores Hunt (Darwin). He is also survived by many nieces, nephews, extended family, and friends.
