He was predeceased by: his parents, John Gauger and Julia Gauger (Johnson); his wife Yvonne Elizabeth Wright; his parents-in-law, Harold and Mabel Wright; his sister Janice Gauger; and also Wayne Tol.

He is survived by: his children, Amber Wright Gauger of Sioux Falls, SD, Deedra Wright Koenecke (Paul) and Guy Wright Gauger (Billie) of Clear Lake, SD; his grandchildren, Thatcher Koenecke (Kimberly), Wyatt (Morgan Schmidt) and Ryker Gauger; and his great grandchild Ava Yvonne Koenecke.
