We are sad to announce that on December 31, 2024, at the age of 70, Marlys Mary Benson of Clark, South Dakota passed away. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
She was predeceased by: her parents, Virgil Hamann and Marie Hamann; her sister Lori Mehlberg; her grandson Grey Benson; her parents-in-law, Gen and Max Benson; and her sisters-in-law, Carol and Connie Benson.
She is survived by: her son Jay Ryan (Jesica); her husband Bob Benson (Bob); her children, Angie Lamb (Tyler), Casey Benson (Nicole), Betsy Buchmann (Tim) and Megan Merkel (Nate); her grandchildren, Jackson, Garrett, Katie, Henry Ryan, Haley Moeller, Saige, Landon Werdel, Gunner, Asher, Emma Benson, Tyler, Ethan Nix, Kaden, Genevieve, Addison Buchmann, Kolby, Taylor, Katelynn and Alayna Merkel; her great grandchildren, Aria Werdel and Isabella Garcia; and her siblings, Karyl Maas (John), Randy Hamann (Paula), Charlene "Chubb" Hamann (Loren), Gary Hamann (Dawn) and David Hamann (Peggy).
Visitation was held on Friday, January 3rd 2025 from 5:00 PM to 7:00 PM at the Furness Funeral Home (402 N Commercial St, Clark, SD 57225-1243). A rosary was held on Friday, January 3rd 2025 at 7:00 PM at the same location. A Mass of Christian burial was held on Saturday, January 4th 2025 at 11:00 AM at the St Michaels Catholic Church (112 N Idaho St, Clark, SD 57225).
In lieu of flowers, memorials can be made in her name to the Clark Community Aquatic Center or a charity of your choosing.
