It is with great sadness that we announce the death of George L. Florey Jr. of Clark, South Dakota, born in Watertown, South Dakota, who passed away on October 8, 2024, at the age of 70, leaving to mourn family and friends. As George departs from our midst, his spirit ascends to join the cosmic dance of stars, a shimmering constellation of memories that will forever grace the night sky of the hearts of those who loved George. Though George may no longer walk beside us, his legacy lives on — a testament to the enduring power of love to transcend the boundaries of time and space.
He was predeceased by: his parents, George Florey and Ione Florey (Sandidge). He is survived by: his wife Debbie Florey of Box Elder; his daughters, Patti Florey (Travis Jacobson) of Pierre, SD and Alyssa Bunkowske (Greg) of Rapid City; and his grandchildren, Braxton, Caleb, Hudson, Holden and Brittany. He is also survived by three great-grandchildren as well as other loving family members and friends.
A procession was held on Monday, October 14th 2024 at 11:45 AM at the Osheim & Schmidt Funeral Home (2700 Jackson Blvd, Rapid City, SD 57702). A graveside service was held on Monday, October 14th 2024 at 12:30 PM at the Black Hills National Cemetery (20901 Pleasant Valley Dr, Sturgis, SD 57785).
